After Hours is an Auckland-based duo (also performing as a full band) featuring vocalist Racheal Lee and multi-instrumentalist Ernie Semu. Known for their versatility and effortless chemistry, the group delivers everything from soulful jazz and R&B to contemporary pop and classic dancefloor favourites.
Both Racheal and Ernie bring extensive careers as highly respected session musicians and live performers. Ernie, with over four decades in the industry, has worked as a musical director, arranger, and performer across television, cabaret, and major live venues, including long-standing residencies in Auckland’s top nightlife circuit and at SkyCity Auckland. His career includes backing prominent New Zealand artists, contributing to TV productions, and performing nationally across genres ranging from jazz and reggae to pop and R&B.
Together, After Hours are regular performers at premium venues in both Auckland and Hamilton, valued for their professionalism, musical depth, and ability to read a room. Whether as an intimate duo or a full band lineup, they bring a polished, high-calibre sound shaped by decades of collective experience on stages, in studios, and alongside some of New Zealand’s most established acts.
